He went to San Diego State College and finish with the highest degree the he served our county in World War Two and was a Pilot in the wart flew a P 38 plane and when he got home from the war he was the City Manager in La Jolla Ca and was noticing that the city council. members there were stealing money from the tax papers and Chapman L Bone went against the whole City Council and then they were trying to get him fired but the Town of La Jolla Loved him for doing what was right and letting the town know, He made headlines in the paper everyday but finally he Resigned. from there and then went to Torrance Ca and was the city manager there for a short period of time and got offered more money to go the City of La Mirada Ca and because of Chapman ( Everyone called him Chappy ) Chappy went on to have the new big City Hall in La Mirada built there and now that is the main attraction in La Mirada. Chappy stayed as the city manager of La Mirada for over 10 years and got offered a even higher position.to take on the whole City of Los Angeles as the City Administrator and was in charge at the time 176 cities I believe at the time. Very Important job to take on all that. Chappy was living in La Mirada still and driving every day to Los Angeles City Hall Chappy had a wife name Laura and a Son named Rick Bone and daughter Heather Bone and 10 years younger than Rick and Heather had a daughter Named Susan Bone Chappy father died when he was just 5 years old, and his mother Mabel Morgan didn't have time for her child and put him in a boy's home all of his upbringing. and Mabel his mother made very expensive dresses for the movie stars and had a dress shop in New York and one in Beverly Hills and one in La Jolla and was very wealthy from this that is until she married 3 times and each husband took more money from her until she was broke and even though she didn't want anything to do with her son when he would try to reach out to her she would close the door in his face but when she was broke and had nothing left Chapman still came to her and took care of her and bought her a home in San Diego ca and made sure she was well taken care of until the day she died, However his way of dealing with how he was treated was He paid for all the funeral cost of course and didn't attend That was his way. Chappy was a really good-looking Man Brown hair and the bluest. Eyes you ever want to see and dressed to empress. Always Chappy had several cars he like to drive a New beautiful Thunder bird car and a 1964 Thunderbird Car and also a Caprice. with a 454 engine in it which he like to let go sometimes by that I mean fast. Chappy was a excellent golfer and had golfed in Bob Hope classic golf tournaments and Dinah Shore and several others until he had cataract surgery on his eyes and the doctor in La Mirada messed up on one eye and he never got his sight back and from that situation he couldn't read. hardly watch tv but mostly what he loved the best was to play golf and he couldn't, and he started to fail shortly after that. I couldn't have asked for a better Dad considering him not having a Mother or Father at all and no siblings He was a important man who was in the newspapers literally every day and on the news I couldn't be more proud to have him as my father I Miss him so and my life has never been the same I Love you Pa Pa Your daughter Suzy Q
