Carter Glass: The FDIC and the Federal Reserve have been in the news for the past few years. Here is the man (pictured in 1920) who was a part of creating both of these. Carter Glass was a newspaper publisher, in Congress for many years, and the Secretary of the Treasury under President Woodrow Wilson. He is seen here leaving the White House where he was reputedly called in every day for his advice.
