    Carrie Haynes was the daughter of Robert Haynes Sr and Amanda Waggoner. She grew up in a large family with siblings including Hollis Haynes (1895-1900), Sallie Jane Haynes (1896-1918), Frances Haynes (1898-1996), Lucy Haynes (1899-1985), Robert Haynes Jr (1904-1975), Mary Lou Haynes (1906-1988), John Haynes Sr (1907-1989), Emanuel Haynes Sr (1909-1973), Georgia Haynes (1912-1983), Fannie Haynes (1916-1985), Amanda "Mattie" Lou Haynes (1917-1998), Thomas Haynes (1918-), Neal Haynes (1919-1996), and Charles Aaron Haynes (1922-2008). She was married twice; once to Frank Boleyjack with whom she had a daughter, and again to Charlie Nelson (1886-1948) with whom she had multiple children including Walter Nelson (1919-1972) and Charlie Nelson Jr (1924-1997).Carrie was also the mother of Viola (Nelson) Brown. She lived to the remaarkable age of 101, passing away on September 21, 1987 in Murfreesboro, TN. Carrie Nelson is my great grandmother on my mother's side on her father's side I remember going to her house in Murfreesboro when I was young she was a very sweet lady

He married Amanda on December 27, 1894 in Nashville and he worked as a farm laborer. His race was listed as "Mulatto" on the 1910 census records. He passed away on June 14, 1930 in Tennessee. His parents were Charles Haynes Sr and Jane Snell (1844-). Carrie's mother, Amanda Waggoner, was born on February 19, 1886 in Tennessee and grew up in Davidson County, TN. After marrying Robert in 1894, they raised their family in Murfreesboro and Nashville. She passed away on March 29, 1956 in Nashville, TN. Her parents were John Waggoner (1853-) of Tennessee and Sallie Banks (1855-) of Tennessee.

Services for Mrs. Carrie Haynes Nelson, 101 years old, of Murfrees-baro, who died Sept. 21 at Baptist Hospital in Nashville following a brief Illness, were held Saturday at the Smithfolk District Association Tabernacle. The Rev. R.W. Sibert officiated. Burial was in Evergeen Cemetery.

She is survived by a son, Charlie Nelson of Murfreesboro; a daughter, Mrs. Viola Brown of Murfreesboro; three brothers, John Haynes, Charle Aaron Haynes and Neal Haynes, all of Nashville; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Johnson, Mrs. Francis Bostick, and Ms. Amanda Lou Haypes, all of Nashville; 19 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
