Boone Dawson Cloughley was born on May 24, 1904 in McAlester, Pittsburg County, Oklahoma United States to John James Cloughley and Sabra (Harmon) Townsend, and had siblings Harmon Rudolph Cloughley, Florence Dawson (Cloughley) Paulsen, John James “J J” Cloughley, and Peggy Sabra Grace (Cloughley) Bingham. He married Betty Jean (McClain) Frasure in 1945, and they were married until Boone's death on June 1, 1953. Boone Cloughley was buried at Ringling Memorial Cemetery in Ringling, Jefferson County.

His Mother in the picture on the right was (Jamsey) Sabra Harmon (buried in El-Reno Ok. under the name Townsend) daughter of Sarah Gordon and John Harmon. The father of Boone was John James Cloughley the son of John Cloughley and Margaret Kennedy. John the Grandfather of Boone was born in Ireland and Margaret his Grandmother was born in England. From Ireland John went to Liverpool England. John and Margaret married in England and had 3 children there, Robert, Margaret and Ellen. From there they came to the USA and Resided in Parsons Kansas where John the father of Boone was born. John James Cloughley and Sabra Cloughley the parents of Boone had the children: 1. Harmon, he is buried in Witchita Tx., 2. Florence, she is buried next to Boone in Ringling. 3. Boone, buried in Ringling 4. John Jr. was cremated at San Antonio Texas. Boone married Imo Jean McClain Daughter of Oleve Mae Sitton and James Washington McClain August 31, 1946 at Wellinton Kansas. Boone Had a son Halstead. Boone is in Lot 5, Blk.67. at Ringling Oklahoma. Boone Died in Chickasha Ok. where he resided on a farm at Amber Oklahoma with Jean his wife, Butch and Halstead. The Age of Boone at death was 49. In 1904, in the year that Boone Dawson Cloughley was born, the Russo-Japanese war began. The Russian Empire and the Japanese Empire began fighting over the territories of Manchuria and Korea. Russia wanted a warm water port on the Pacific Ocean while Japan feared growing encroachment from Russia into Asia. So the Japan fleet launched a surprise attack on the Russian Navy and a one year war began. President Roosevelt of the United States brokered peace between the two nations. It was the first time in the modern era that an Asian power showed its dominance over a European power.

In 1927, he was 23 years old when the first "talkie" (a movie with music, songs, and talking), The Jazz Singer, was released. Al Jolson starred as a cantor's son who instead of following in his father's footsteps as expected, becomes a singer of popular songs. Banished by his father, they reconcile on his father's deathbed. It was a tear-jerker and audiences went wild - especially when they heard the songs. Thus begun the demise of silent films and the rise of "talkies".
