Introduction

Boaz Piller was born on August 26, 1887 in The Hague, The Hague, ZH Netherlands. He immigrated to the US arriving in New Orleans, Louisiana. He later resided in Boston, Massachusetts and Portland, Maine. While in Boston he was a musician and was the first cellist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He was listed as having a medium physical build, was of medium height, and had black hair and brown eyes. Boaz was married to Sylvia Toivonen. She was born around 1915 in Finland and is the daughter of Taavi Toivonen. She departed from Gothenburg, Sweden and arrived in New York, New York, USA on September 28, 1937 at the age of 22. At the time, she was already married to Boaz. She stood at 5 Feet, 8 Inches, had blonde hair and blue eyes, and was fair skinned.

Boston Symphony Cellist Piller Dies

BOSTON (AP) - Boaz Piller, 77, first cellist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, has died on vacation in Sestri Levante, Italy.

Piller, Dutch - born U.S. citizen, was stricken Tuesday while visiting Sestri Levante with his wife. The body will be flown to the United States for burial.

p.s. Boaz Piller was a bassoonist and then I move on to contrabassoon.
