Beverly Idona (Shatraw) Page was born on February 5, 1934 to Eleanor R. Riggs and Francis Isriel Shatraw, and had siblings Clifford H Shatraw, Mertis J Perras, Olivia F (Shatraw) Cyrus, and Urick Jack Shatraw. She married Wendell Homer Page on October 6, 1951, and they were married until death separated them. Beverly Page died at age 88 years old on March 12, 2022.

In 1934, in the year that Beverly Idona Page was born, on November 11th 1933, an extremely strong dust storm hit South Dakota, stripping topsoil. Other strong dust storms had occurred during 1933. Severe droughts continued to hit the Great Plains and the dust storms devastated agricultural production as well as people's' lives for several years. The Roosevelt administration and scientists eventually determined that farming practices had caused the conditions that led to the dust storms and the changes they implemented in farming stopped the Dust Bowl.

In 1943, by the time she was just 9 years old, on March 31st, the Broadway musical Oklahoma! opened. Written by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II (the first of their string of successful collaborations), audiences loved it. The musical ran for 2,212 performances originally and was made into a movie in 1954.
