Beverly Ann (Klingerman) Meneeley was born on February 22, 1943 in Oakdale, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania United States to James Lewis Klingerman Sr. and Elizabeth Irene Klingerman, and has siblings Merlin Robert Klingerman, Betty Jane Drobeck, Donald James Klingerman, Thomas Robert Klingerman, Lois Irene Michael, James Lewis Klingerman Jr., Carole Mary O'Donnell, Richard Nelson Klingerman, and Wayne Allen Klingerman. Beverly Meneeley married Ronald Dale Meneeley in 1962 in Hazleton, Luzerne County, and has children Ronald Dale Meneeley Jr., Bruce Allen Meneeley, and Karen Jean Lloyd.

Written by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II (the first of their string of successful collaborations), audiences loved it. In 1957, on September 24th, the "Little Rock Nine" (nine African-American students) entered Little Rock High School. Arkansas Gov. Orval Faubus had previously prevented the students from entering the school at the beginning of the term with the Arkansas National Guard - they blocked the door. President Eisenhower ordered federal troops - the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army - to guard the students and allow them entry.
