    My ( True blood my mom's true Aunt ) Great Aunt Bertha who was married to my ( True blood my dad's true Uncle ) Great Uncle Daniel Tromler she was like my Grandma because she raised my mom Mavis Tryon/Tromler after my mom's mother passed away in 1940s when my mom was 7 years old . She was kind Harted worked hard and loved me Dan and my brother Ted and treated us like her own children or as a Grandma would . Miss Aunt Bertha hugs .

In 1902, in the year that Bertha E Tromler was born, the first Rose Bowl game was played in Pasadena, California. Called the "Tournament East–West football game" at the time, the Michigan Wolverines (East) played the Stanford Indians (West) - the Wolverines won 49 - 0. (The Stanford captain requested an end to the game with 8 minutes remaining.) The Tournament of Roses Parade began in 1890 and the football game began as a way to boost tourism in the area.

In 1919, at the age of 17 years old, Bertha was alive when the "Black Sox Scandal" rocked baseball fans during the World Series. Eight players on the Chicago White Sox were accused of throwing the World Series, thus allowing the Cincinnati Reds to win, and making money off of the losses. All of the players were found not guilty by a jury but the fallout lasted for decades. The players were banned from baseball even though they were found innocent.
