I am proud to say I am the great granddaughter of Bertha Lipelt. Even though i was just a child when I spent time with her there are little memories of her that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Her home in Freeman, SD is the house that I love to go to and remember pumping the well water outside, the scary basement, and the room with the toys of my mom, aunt, and uncle played with when they were my age at that time. My great grandmother had a huge kind heart and was there to talk to and to love. Everyone in the family adored her and carry her memory everyday. My uncle especially, he tells some to the best stories about her and always says "I remember when grandma would do this or say that" and just brings smiles to everyone faces when we hear that.
