She had siblings Gladys Trethowan Lewis, Edith Victoria Trethowan, Alfred Ernest Trethowan, Frank Trethowan, Henry Trethowan, and Charles Henry Trethowan. She married Leslie Charles Splatt, and had children Leslie "Cliff" Clifford Splatt, Eric Sydney Splatt, and Cyril Gordon Splatt. Bertha Splatt died at age 80 years old on October 11, 1972 in Geelong.
