Where's the story?PointsMentioned Map2 Points Mentioned "Not a day goes by that they don't hug, hold hands, exchange a heartfelt kiss and genuinely say to each other 'I love you,'" said their daughter Cheri Risley-Bonnert. "You have to have a real commitment and make a commitment with God and your family," said Cliff Risley, 83. "We love each other so much," said Berneice, adding her husband of 55 years is a wonderful man and she loves everything about him. The admiration is mutual. "She's a very loving person and has always been very considerate of everyone," said Cliff. "She's always happy, smiling and keeps herself beautiful," he said, adding he loves her eyes and the way she dresses. The pair met in Indianapolis and they fell in love right away. "We took our vows very seriously and became not only husband and wife, but also best friends," Cliff said. Whether it's traveling, raising children or helping at their grand-daughter's school here in Moorpark, the Risley always do everything together, they said. They're also very close to their family, which includes three children and five grandchildren. Cliff was Director of Research for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in the Great Lakes Region and Berneice worked for the American Beverage and Supply Corp until she retired to raise her children. The couple moved to Moorpark three years ago so they could be close to their daughter and grand-daughter who is 9-year-old. "They've always been so romantic, it's amazing, RisleyBonnert said. When she was a teenager Risley-Bonnert said she was embarrassed because her parents were the only ones around who were romantic, but in the long run it's helped her and her two brothers with their own relationships, she said. They all enjoy successful marriages that have lasted more than 20 years each. The couple goes to Campus Canyon Elementary School weekly to read with young students and even there, love is in the air. They arrive every Thursday morning holding hands and leave at the end of the day the same way," said Campus Canyon Principal Linda Bowe. Cliff is very protective and gentlemanly toward his wife Berneice, she said.
