    Basilio Tejada Bagorio was born on May 22nd, 1908, on the Island of Luzon, Philippines, to Alexandra Tegada Bagario and an unknown father. At the age of 32, he moved to Pleasanton, California, and later served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. Basilio enlisted in the U.S. Army on April 1st, 1942, in San Francisco, California. After his military service, Basilio married Adelaida Mercado, a housewife, on May 25th, 1958, in Manila, Philippines. They had two children. On their naturalization papers, Basilio stated that he had entered the United States on May 12, 1928, in San Francisco, California. Basilio and Adelaida divorced in July of 1968 in the city of Alameda, California. Living the rest of his life in the greater San Francisco Bay Area, Basilio did in Alameda, California at the age of 82 and is buried in St Michael Cemetery & Funeral Center, Livermore, Alameda County, California

In 1955, Basilio was 47 years old when on September 30th, movie star James Dean, 24, died in a car accident. He was headed in his new Porsche 550 to a race in Salinas California when, traveling at 85 mph, he collided with a 1950 Ford Tudor, also speeding, driven by a 23 year old college student. Dean died, his passenger and the other driver survived.
