Dear Childhood Friend
Barry and I were both born and raised in Waterbury, Connecticut. We met at Driggs Elementary School when we were in the First Grade and also attended
Crosby High School where Barry became the valedictorian of our Senior Class.
He was a devoted friend. Years later, when eloped to Florida, I visited Barry at his Miami, Florida Internal Medicine Practice when I was very ill. Barry examined me and said that I had double pneumonia. He saved my life.
I told him that I might move from New York City to Miami and asked that if I did, "Would you be my doctor?" Barry smiled and said to me: "Not only will I be your doctor, I'll be your friend." I was deeply moved.
May he R.I.P. forever and a day.
