My beautiful Friend
Barbara A. Dichtel grew up three blocks from me on the 7/Gratiot area of the east side of Detroit, MI.
We went to the same elementary school, Assumption (Grotto) at 6/Gratiot Avenue.
Barbara was a tall, probably 5'7", pretty, auburn, ginger-haired woman with a big laugh and a strong conscience who lived a too short, but good life. She was a devout Roman Catholic.
She was my maid of honor when I married in 1969.
She was a talented secretary working for several big companies in Detroit including GM. She was always cheerful and fun to be around.
She had three bouts with breast cancer which eventually caused her death in 1999.
I will miss her until the day I die.
