Augustine's partner was William Barton, and they had children Abbey Eliza Barton, David John Barton, William Daniel Barton, Walter Ernest Barton, and Caroline Julia (Barton) Murdoch. Augustine Barton died at age 68 years old on January 9, 1929 in Leongatha, South Gippsland Shire County, and was buried at Leongatha Cemetery in Leongatha.
