In 1900, in the year that Arilla Devault was born, the Austrian neurologist Sigmund Freud published his book (written in 1899) "The Interpretation of Dreams". Sigmund Freud, born Sigismund Schlomo Freud in May of 1856, is the "father of psychoanalysis". Ray Harroun was the winner - he was an engineer and had retired from racing but he came back for this race. After the race, he retired for good.
