Arch George Tangey of Timor Australia was born in 1892 in Timor to John Morgan Tangey and Helen Wilkinson Tangey. He had siblings Lilly Tangey, Charles William Tangey, Daisy Louisa Caroline Tangey, Ada Orestle Tangey, Bert Tangey, Ada Whelan, Wilfred Augustus Tangey, and William Leonard Tangey. Arch Tangey died at age 81 years old in 1973 in Geelong.

In 1892, in the year that Arch George Tangey was born, on August 4th, the father and stepmother of Lizzie Borden were found murdered. Lizzie was accused of the crime and on June 20th of the next year, she was acquitted of murder by a jury. But she was never acquitted in the public mind.

In 1939, by the time he was 47 years old, in May, Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the first full-length animated film, reached a total international gross of $6.5 million which made it (to then) the most successful sound film of all time. First released in December 1937, it was originally dubbed "Disney's Folly" but the premiere received a standing ovation from the audience. At the 11th Academy Awards in February 1939, Walt Disney won an Academy Honorary Award - a full-size Oscar statuette and seven miniature ones - for Snow White.
