Antonia Adelaide (Pannowitz) Mann of Nhill, Hindmarsh Shire County, VIC Australia was born in 1888 to Albertus George Pannowitz and Harriett Knapp Pannowitz. She had a sister Agnes Jane Magdalene Pannowitz Mee. She married George Charles Mann, and had children Thelma Harriet Mann, Elva Jean Mann, Denis Clifford George Mann, and Gwendoline Ellen May Mann. Antonia Mann died at age 63 years old in 1951 in Nhill.

In 1888, in the year that Antonia Adelaide (Pannowitz) Mann was born, on January 12th, the 'Schoolhouse Blizzard' blanketed Dakota Territory. Montana, Minnesota, Nebraska, Kansas, and Texas were hit, leaving 235 dead. Many of those who perished were children on their way home from school. The day was relatively warm when it began and the blizzard hit unexpectedly, catching most by surprise.

In 1892, by the time she was merely 4 years old, on October 5th, the Dalton Gang was shot. The Gang was attempting to rob two banks - simultaneously - in Coffeyville Kansas but word spread of the robberies and townspeople with guns greeted them when they left the banks. Four members of the gang were killed - only Emmett Dalton survived his wounds and spent 14 years in prison.
