    Anthony Peter - or some sources say Anthony Pullen - Shaw's father was Peter P. Shaw (1918 - 2003) and his stepmother was Angela Lansbury ( 1925 - 2022). He had one sister, Deidre Angela (Shaw) Battarra. Anthony married Lee S. Webster on May 30, 1981 in San Francisco, California. They were both 29 years old. Anthony appeared in a few films: "A Bridge Too Far" (1977), "The Spy who Loved Me" (1977) and "North Seat Hijack" (1980). He also appeared in the television move "The Martian Chronicles" and "World War III". He costarred with his mother in the Broadway play "A Little Family Business" (1982), which ran for 13 performances. He also co-produced his mother's tv show, "Murder, She Wrote" with his father and brother.

The worst epidemic of polio had broken out that year - in the U.S. there were 58,000 cases reported. Of these, 3,145 people had died and 21,269 were left with mild to disabling paralysis.

In 1965, by the time he was merely 13 years old, from August 11 to 16, riots broke out in Watts, a Black section of Los Angeles. An allegedly drunk African-American driver was stopped by LA police and, after a fight, police brutality was alleged - and the riots began. 34 people died in the rioting and over $40 million in property damage occurred. The National Guard was called in to help the LA police quell rioting.
