Private Pawelec was assigned to the Branch Immaterial - Warrant Officers, USA, and was part of the Selectees (Enlisted Men) component. His rank was Private, and he was enlisted for the duration of the war or other emergency, plus six months, subject to the discretion of the President or otherwise according to law. Following his military service, he returned to Norwich. Anthony Jan Pawelec eventually relocated to Brockton, Massachusetts in the late 1950s, where he lived until his passing on June 11, 1967.
