Annie Mary (Ohrens) Cameron was born in 1856. She was married to Hugh Ewen Cameron in 1874 in Newstead, Mount Alexander Shire County, Victoria Australia, and they were together until death separated them. She had children Angus Cameron, Annie Mary McVicar (Cameron) Hodgson, Dougald Cameron, Allan Leopold Cameron, Johan Elsie (Cameron) Mankey, Donald Valentine Cameron, Viva Dorothy Jane (Cameron) Firth, Ina May (Cameron) McKenzie, Catherine McRae, and Keith Cameron. Annie Cameron died at age 81 years old on October 18, 1938 in Newfield, Corangamite Shire County, VIC Australia, and was buried at Camperdown Cemetery, 35 Cemetery Rd, in Camperdown.

In 1856, in the year that Annie Mary (Ohrens) Cameron was born, on February 18th, The American Party, also called the "Know-Nothings" because they were an anti-Catholic and anti-immigrant movement, assembled in Philadelphia to nominate their first Presidential candidate, former President Millard Fillmore. The party sought to keep the "purity" of elections by blocking "impure" foreigners.

In 1865, when she was only 9 years old, on September 26th, Champ Ferguson, a Confederate guerrilla, became the first person to be convicted of war crimes arising from the Civil War. (There was only one other person convicted of war crimes in the Civil War.) He was found guilty by a U.S. Army tribunal on 23 charges arising from the murder of 53 people. On October 20, he was hung.
