Ann C Traskos of Clinton Township, Macomb County, MI was born on January 10, 1921 at at home in Hamtramck, Wayne County to Joseph Jaskow and Emily Turkowska. She had a sister Helen Meier. She was in a relationship with Louis Casimir Traskos, and had children Marcina Marie Traskos, Janine Meredith (Traskos) Lindsey, Gerald A. Traskos, Liane Celeste Traskos, Rosanne Traskos Burcham, Leonard Jerome Traskos, Angela Catherine Traskos, and Brian Laurence Traskos. Ann Traskos died at age 79 years old on September 11, 2000.

Introduction

Ann was the youngest of three girls to survive childhood. She was seriously interested in art and painted a portrait of her mother in oils crocheting when she was 15 yrs. old. She was encouraged by her parents to finish college even though she had met and eloped with her husband Louis Traskos when she was 19 yrs old. She finished school at what was then Wayne College and is now Wayne State University. She taught art classes for a few years during WWII. Between 1942-1962 she had eight children; 5 girls and 3 boys. Her greatest love was the catholic church, her husband Louis and her children.

Obsessed with the catholic faith

Ann was my mother and she was somewhat intrusive in the lives of her children. Despite the ability to get under my skin, she was always and unfailingly there in a pinch. She gave me shelter and helped me take care of my child after a failed marriage allowing me to finish nursing school and find a career path. I will always love and miss her.
