    Andrew Scearce Andrew Jackson Scearce, 85, formerly of 813 Melrose Ave., died Friday in The Elder Care Nursing Home in Rocky Mount. Born in Pittsylvania County, January 9, 1902, Scearce was a son of the late William Henry Scearce and Maude Inman Scearce. A retired carpenter, Scearce was a member of the Primitive Baptist faith. Survivors include two sons, Donald Wayne Scearce, Danville, V.A. and Andrew Jackson Scearce Jr. Skokie, I.L.; one sister, Essie Abbott, Danville, V.A.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted 11 A.M. Monday in Floral Hills Memory Gardens by the Rev. Tony Johnson. Townes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will be at the residence of his son, Donald Wayne Scearce, 813 Melrose Ave.
