Hyzer was born on June 28, 1855 in Shannon, Carroll County, Illinois United States to Peter Hyzer and Elizabeth Etta (Hoyt) Hyzer, and had siblings Hannah Mariah (Hyzer) Cheeseman, Sarah Elizabeth (Hyzer) Cheeseman, Emma Independence (Hyzer) Hoffman, and Abraham Lincoln Hyzer. He was in a relationship with Esther M (Cheeseman) Hyzer beginning December 25, 1879 in Delaware County, NY, and had children Ernest F Hyzer, Clara Belle (Hyzer) Howard, Laurence Lee Hyzer, Fredrick Elmer Hyzer, and George Andrew Hyzer PVT. Andrew Hyzer died at age 83 years old on June 28, 1938 in Richland, Keokuk County, IA.
