2 Memories, Stories & Photos about Ammorn

Ammorn Jeweler Sherratt
Ammorn Jeweler Sherratt
I have an old studio photograph of Ammorn SHERRATT of Waterloo, IA which was taken at the Ferguson Studio in Reinbeck, IA. The photograph is dated 13 Sept 1900 with Ammorn appearing to be in his 20's at the time it was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding the photograph and this family:

Ammorn Jeweler SHERRATT was b. 28 Aug 1873 in Grundy County, Iowa to parents Joel Farrell SHERRATT (1818-1891) and Rachel or Rachael SMITH (1840-1921). Ammorn was one of 11 children born to this couple including Elton; Joel F.; Samuel H.; Katie E.; Harriet; Amanda “Manda” Anna; Solomon; Ammorn Jeweler; James; Minnie; and Clarence Chester SHERRATT, all born between 1861 and 1880. Ammorn’s father had 6 additional children from a previous marriage, including Barnett Byron; Mary Eliza; William H.; Shotwell “Shot” or “Shottie” P.; Charlotte O.; and Clarissa M. SHERRATT, all born between 1845 and 1859.

Ammorn married Bessie SHERRATT (b. 1876) and he died 10 Dec 1915 or 1916 in Black Hawk County, IA and he is buried in the Hudson Cemetery in Hudson, IA.

I am hoping to get this photograph to a family member and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this family or know someone who might be.

Thanks,
Shelley
