Orvilla Amanda (Cooper) Fox was born in 1841 to William H. Cooper and Laura Mariah (Castle) Cooper. She married Enos Augustus Fox, and had children Laura Mariah Fox, Robert Dennis Fox, Sarah Anneliza Fox, Nellie Viola Fox, William Delbert Fox, Bertha Jennett Fox, George A. Fox, and Lena May Fox. Orvilla Fox died at age 83 years old in 1924.

This is a picture of my paternal Great Grandmother, Orvilla Fox. This is a copy made from an original tin-type photo that was found among our personal family pictures. I suspect that this was taken sometime during the 1860's.

Amanda Orvilla (Cooper) Fox
A photo of Amanda Orvilla (Cooper) Fox, my Paternal Great Grandmother. Orvilla (as she was always known) was born in 1841 and died in 1924. Her father, William H. Cooper was a Private in the Army during the Civil War being a member of the 2nd New York Cavalry. Her mother was Laura Mariah Castle. William & Laura Cooper were short time residents of Broadalbin, Fulton County, New York where Orvilla became acquainted with Augustus Fox. Orvilla's parents decided to move to Manlius, Onondaga county, New York in 1861 so shortly after the Coopers moved away Augustus decided he had fallen in Love with Orvilla so he followed her to Manlius and they were married out there. Augustus & Orvilla returned to Broadalbin, Fulton County, New York and continued their residence in that place for most of their lives.
