    Allene was born to Raymond H. "Jake" Shannon and Ruth Alvina Smith Shannon. She married Arvid Thomas Foell - son of Thomas A. AND Amelia Stoltenberg Foell of Rockwell, IA. On Feb. 14, 1948 at the Methodist Church in Nashua, IA. Four sons and one daughter was born to this union: Arvin Joe, Allen James, Alvin John, Albert Jay , and Arlene Jean. Arvid died at home, rural Rockford, IA. Jan. 23, 1968. Allene married Herman H. Roeder Dec. 27, 1968 at The Little Brown Church of Nashua, IA. Herman had 5 sons, John, Bruce, Gary, Thomas, & James, from a previous marriage ( divorced) with Agnes. Allene and Herman had one son together, Richard Scott Roeder, born May 7, 1970. Allene had 2 brothers, Clarence H. Shannon and John B. Shannon. Then two sisters, Carol Shannon-Annett and Cora "Lavonne" Shannon-Hartson , later another brother, Raymond D. Shannon.
