    ALICE S. TRIMIEW NEW BEDFORD -- Alice Susan Trimiew, 52, of New Bedford, formerly of Philadelphia, Pa., died Friday, March 12, 2004, at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. Born in California, she was the daughter of Sarah Cunningham Trimiew of Binghamton, N.Y. and the late Ryland Trimiew. She had lived in New Bedford since 1977. Ms. Trimiew attended Washington University and graduated with a diploma from the London Film School in London, England. She had been a professional filmmaker, photographer, instructor of film at Philadelphia Community College, assistant director of the Office of Special Projects at the University of Pennsylvania, employee of New Bedford's Foster Grandparent Program, a New Bedford radio newscaster, graphic design artist, and a columnist for The Providence American. She had also worked with the Community Development Corp. and the New Bedford Women's Center. Most recently, she was a public relations officer for the Coalition Against Domestic Violence in Warwick, R.I. She was a member of the Talmage Book Club and the New Bedford Historical Society. She enjoyed the beach, literature, films, music, and travel and loved Martha's Vineyard. Survivors include her mother; two daughters, Nia Hoagland and Ayan Hoagland; a grandson, Ryland Roderick; an aunt, Mabel Cunningham; several cousins; seven sister-like friends, Jeanne Costa, Angela Nash Wade, Sheila Duarte Andrade, Jan Parsons, Lynn Ames, Jean Pena and Anita Barros; and her former husband, Everett Hoagland. Her funeral service will be at 5 p.m. Monday at the Aubertine-Lopes Funeral Home, 129 Allen St. Source:
