Aina Geske attended Vermont's Lyndon State College in the late 1960s. We were in an anthropology class together. In the summer of 1970, we were part of a small group of students who went to Ireland to study archaeology and the works of James Joyce. After returning to the U.S., Aina transferred to Goddard College in Plainfield, VT. In the mid-1980s we ran into one another at the American Museum of Natural History. At that time Aina was working for a research firm in Manhattan. I never saw or heard from her again.

Aina and I were roommates for a brief time in Newton, Massachusetts. I met her through a friend at Goddard College and she came to Newton after she left Goddard College. She was a lovely person, exotic and mysterious and totally memorable. At Goddard she was a power, I attended her 20th Birthday there, one very memorable affair and attended by many classmates.
I remember her in colorful shirts, jeans, large hoop earrings and the large round wire rim glasses she wore in those times. She stayed and worked for a time in Boston. We cooked together and enjoyed the same music and had good times. Finally she moved back to New York which I think was where she had family and maybe had grown up. I spoke with her on the phone once after that. Never saw her again. Regretted that we had not become closer a few times later but I had another interest then. Sorry to hear that she passed away so young. Would like to know what happened to her and more of her life after she left Newton.
