Robert "Bob" Dayton Kellagher was born on August 13, 1921, in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, to his father, John Joseph ("Jack") Kellagher Jr (1893-1953) and his mother, Martha M. Schoonover (1900-1928). Bob grew up in his hometown before eventually moving to Pompano Beach, Florida, where he passed away in 1990.
Bob married Thelma Weinhold on March 21, 1942, in Elkton, Maryland, and together they had one son. He was a high school graduate and worked as a machinist.
In 1944, Bob enlisted in the United States military at the age of 22, during the later stages of World War II. He was assigned to the Selective Service System and served as a Private with a military serial number of 33949515. The Selective Service System was responsible for drafting millions of men into the military during the war, and Bob's enlistment was a testament to his sense of duty to his country.
Robert F Kellagher of Levittown, Bucks County, PA was born on January 26, 1924, and died at age 85 years old on May 15, 2009.
