She was married to James Walter Horsburgh in 1880, and had children Helen May (Horsburgh) Marshall, William Archibald Thomas Horsburgh, Mary "Maria" Horsburgh, Walter George Bish Horsburgh, and Margaret Jane (Horsburgh) Chapman. Maria Horsburgh died at age 89 years old on July 1, 1938 in Heathcote, Greater Bendigo City County.
