Madison Webster was born on March 21, 1840, in Sharon, New York, his father, Daniel, was 33 and his mother, Jane, was 32. He married Elizabeth Stewart on October 29, 1865, in Clayton, Iowa. They had nine children in 21 years. He died on January 27, 1928, in Rowena, South Dakota, at the age of 87, and was buried in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
