A beautiful lady who was never married yet lived a fulfilling life. She had a career as a primary school educator and later rose to infant mistress. For someone without her own family, she had a caring spirit for the little children in her charge. She showed a sense of humour, laughing along with the children. Leila loved the ballet and in particular
Coppelia. She shared her love of ballet with the children. I think she would have loved to have learned the piano. She could pick out a tune good enough for little children. Leila travelled to Europe in the 1970s. She retired from teaching around 1974 but maintained contact with the last school she worked at. She had a long retirement passing away in 1998. Leila will always be remembered as a lovely lady and her memory and influence lives on into the 21st century. Rest In Peace.
