Born as "Helena" but known as Lena.Lena was shown as aged 56 when she died in 1949 and is listed in BDM NSW as born as Helena J. Penney in 1893..Her parents were listed as James Penney , a stove polisher, and Charlotte Ann Morris who were married in 1891 in Sydney.
Lena Penney married Hugo Ludolff in 1934 who used the name Bert Leahy for most of his life. When she died the death certificate and newspaper obituary recorded her as Lena Leahy (not Ludolff).
Lena was christened Helena J.Penney. Her marriage is recorded in 1934 to Hugo Ludolff, but Hugo Ludolff was also using the name ' Bert Leahy' in order to enlist in World War 1.He was the son of a German immigrant, Jean Max Ludolff. Her death certificate did not list any children. Uncertain whether she had children prior to her marriage to Hugo (aka Bert Leahy). Her death certificate listed her parents as James Penney and Charlotte Ann (nee Morris). She was 56 years old when she passed away at her home in Petersham.
Lena Penney of Cushing, Nacogdoches County, TX was born on September 16, 1902, and died at age 91 years old on September 12, 1994.
