Police arrest suspect in woman's strangling
Avonsdale - A day after Keisha Hogan's body was found, Cincinnati police arrested a Middletown man and charged him with murder in connection with her death.

Roosevelt McDonald, 48 was arrested Wednesday afternoon. Police did not say what led them to McDonald, or what his relationship was to the victim. Hogan, 34, was found Tuesday by a neighbor and friend in a home in the 3400 block of Harvey Avenue with a cord around her neck.

Hogan's family said Wednesday they have no idea why someone would kill her. Hogan leaves behind a twin sister and father. Her mother died of a brain aneurysm in December.

"This is ridiculous. It's senseless," said her twin sister, Kim Hogan, 34, of North Avondale. "For somebody to do that to her, it's just cruel. She would never let anybody into her house that she didn't know. If she thought she knew them, she didn't know this was coming."

Wednesday's arrest wasn't McDonald's first run-in with the law. He has been convicted of possession of illegal drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct, theft and intimidation. Court records show McDonald was convicted of theft in 2005 for stealing DVDs, and later convicted of intimidation after he called the victim three times "threatening to do bodily harm if she followed through with the prosecution."

Keisha Hogan worked at various dry cleaners since she was a teenager, her father said. "She loved it," said James Lavender, 57, of downtown. "It had something to do with the stitching and the pressing."

The last time her family saw her was Monday night. Kim Hogan said she and her son drove by her sister's house. "She was sitting outside on her porch," she said. "We waved to her. She was fine".
