Jon David Venable Sr. was born to Harrison 'Harry' McCall Venable (1908 - 1965) and Annie Lee (Alexander) Venable (1907 - 2004). His father was born in Georgia and his mother was born in South Carolina. He was survived by brother Harrison Venable Jr.
According to the 1950 census, he was 14 living with his father age 41, mother also age 41, and brother Harrison M. Venable Jr. age 18 in Mallard Creek, Mecklenburg, North Carolina.
On November 23rd, 1972 Jon Venable Sr. married Emma Matilda Warwick in South Carolina. They later divorced on May 7th 1984 in Mecklenburg, North Carolina after having four sons and a daughter, Jacqueline, Chip, David, Douglas, and Jon Venable Jr.
Jon was a sergeant in the United States Army and is buried in Sharon Memorial Park.
