Hannah married Andrew McLaughlin in the house of her father at Solomon Town, Pt. Pirie, South Australia. She left home when she married and moved to Victoria and did not return until she was older. She had seven children, the youngest one dying at seven months.
Her husband used to go away shearing for weeks at a time and Hannah had to cope with the children by herself. On one of these trips he died at Mt. Cone Station near Mt. Bryan, South Australia.
Hannah was great with her hands. She could crochet or knit anything and her needlework was pretty. She would make runners and doilies. She used to do ribbon embroidery. It’s said that she wasn’t patient enough to teach anyone.
