George Prate was born on October 28th, 1891 in Italy to Josephine Loope, born 1866 and Rosario Prate. His mother was born in Italy, as was his father.
He immigrated to the United States in 1915, at the age of 24.
George married Marionna "Mary" Pisarro, born 1898, on April 25th, 1915 in Livingston, New York , Mary was 18 and George was age 23. They had nine children: five daughters and four sons. He was survived by four daughters and three sons.
George Prate died at the age of 86 in Piffard, New York and he is buried in Saint Marys Cemetery in Geneseo, Livingston County, New York.
