George Fewtrell married Thelma Keighley (1916–1982) in 1935 in New Zealand. He served in the New Zealand Artillery during World War II and he held the rank of Gunner. Fewtrell was part of the 14 Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment, a unit responsible for providing air defense against enemy attacks. During the war, the New Zealand Artillery played a crucial role in supporting Allied forces across various theaters of war, including North Africa and Europe. After his time in the military, George was a farmer in Opunake, New Zealand.
George Charles Fewtrell was born on October 27, 1915 in 'Fairview' Boronia St, Kensington, New South Wales, Australia to parents Henry Fewtrell (1879-1960) and Ethel Adeline Barber (1883-1971). He married Ruth Edmunds (1919–2005) on October 26, 1940 in Elwood, Victoria, Australia. George Charles Fewtrell was a member of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) during the period of 1939-1948. During World War II, he enlisted in the RAAF in Sydney and was assigned the service number 14665.
