George Corich is the son of Hanko Corich and Carbara Pavesic. He was born on January 12, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan.
George enlisted in the United States Army on December 8, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan. Initially assigned to the Air Corps, which later became the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) during World War II, he held the rank of Private in the Army Of The United States.
As part of his enlistment terms, he committed to serving for the duration of the war or any other emergency, plus an additional six months, subject to the discretion of the President or other applicable laws. Throughout his service, he likely received training and assignments related to the USAAF's mission in World War II, which involved aerial combat operations, strategic bombing campaigns, and various aviation-related tasks.
His dedicated service to the Army during the war came to an end on December 28, 1945, when he was discharged from active duty.
After his time in the Army, on December 8, 1946 he married Charmaine Marguerite Bradshaw in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, USA.
