When Edith (Williams) Hawes was 17, she was living with her parents, Jesse A. Williams and Irene Williams, and siblings Eva, Herbert, and Ione, in Junction Iowa. Dad Jesse was a farmer. Thirty years later, Edith was married to Joseph Hawes and they had children Joella and Karen. The family was living in Blair, Illinois on a farm. Jo Ella was helping on the farm and Joseph was a truck driver on the farm. Edith also had a daughter named Joyce Kincaid. Edith's husband, Joe Hawes, died at the age of 78 in Mason Illinois in 1983. Joe was born in Dublin Kentucky and was a retired carpenter and a farmer. He was also a deacon of Hord Christian Church, to which both he and Edith belonged. Edith and their daughters survived him.
