Darren Glenn Sloan was born with Down's Syndrome. He was not expected to live very long. During the six months following his birth, he had several operations to keep him alive. His mother finally brought him home against medical advice and was told not to be surprised if she had to bring Darren back to the hospital within the week. It did not happen. Doctors said Darren would never sit, walk, or attend school. He did all three. He was never expected to live very long and he did. He held jobs in group homes. Darren loved music and loved to play guitar with his brothers. He loved people and loved to have fun.
