This might not have occurred; but in any case, a memorial in the Old Burying Ground of First Presbyterian Church in Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York indicates that William Salmon, born in 1610 in England, sailed across the Atlantic to New York at the age of 25, which would place the voyage at 1635. This seems to make sense; what is “up in the air” is where each of the children of Christopher Salmon were actually born. Source information has yet to be found to verify. The Old Burying Ground of First Presbyterian Church in Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York is the oldest English burying ground in the State of New York. It is also the site of the oldest English meetinghouse in the State.
