August Hamm was born on April 26th, 1932 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Frank McGlone (1888 - 1967) and Grace Davis (1911 - 1988). His father was born in Carter, Kentucky, as was his mother. He had seven siblings: five brothers, including James Patrick and Thomas Ratcliff and two sisters: Gertrude and Clevie. He also had four half-sisters: Mary, Opal, Anna, and Avenella McGlone. August Hamm married Carrie Lorrene Burton and they divorced on July 12th, 1993 in Richland, Ohio. August died on September 18th, 2007 at home in Mansfield, Ohio. He is buried in Oakland Cemetery, Olive Hill, Kentucky. See August Hamm: Obituary.
