Anne Prause Blue Jul 6, 1930 - Feb 12, 2010 La Jolla, California

Anne Prause was born as the only child of a printing-shop owner (Fritz Prause) in the small, but important town (pop. 20.000) of Reichenbach in the Vogtland area of Northern Saxonia in Eastern Germany. Around 1949 (Soviet zone --> GRD) the family came first to Bielefeld in Westfalia, then the father took over a printing shop in the Ruhr city of Dortmund. I met Anne in 1949 at a dancing school in Bielefeld, and we got rather close to each other. She started studying at the Interpreters' Institute of Germersheim (attached to the Univeristy of Mainz [Mayence] and by 1951 switched to the Interpreters Institute of Heidelberg University (still today nicknamed "the erotic support of the University"). I visited her at both places, pedalling down from Darmstadt (60 km) where I studied Chemistry at the Technical University. She finished earlier than a chemist, plus was a few months older, so she decided for her life earlier and chose the United States, very fond of Americans. This is wehere my mermories come to an end, but in summary Anne was definitely not born into the Blue family.
