When he registered for the World War II draft on June 30,1942, Alan was 19 and living in Stanford California. He was a student, 5 feet 7 inches, weighed 135 pounds, had blck hair and blue eyes, and a light complexion. His next of kin was Dr. AB Baer of San Mateo California. In the 1950 federal census, Alan was living by himself in Florence, Nebraska and employed as an assistant manager at "Louis Sports".
